SAINT DAVID, AZ — A homeowner shot and killed a 67-year-old man who appeared to be forcing his way in through a window in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 30, 2026, while his family, including two small children, was inside the house, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, the agency that patrols Saint David.
The sheriff’s office was notified of a possible burglary in progress in a Saint David residential neighborhood. The homeowner said it sounded like a window got broken, and when he checked his home security system, he saw someone standing immediately outside the residence.
