Testing the Boosted Safe Vehicle Gun Safe

I’ll be testing out this vehicle safe from Boosted Safe over the next few weeks, and I have to say, the way it secures to the ISOFIX anchor points is a pretty clever idea. It’s a system originally designed for securing child safety seats, but Boosted Safe found a smart way to adapt it for keeping valuables locked down inside your vehicle.

My Previous Setup

Before this, I used a small pistol safe that fit under my seat and was secured with a steel cable to the seat mounting bracket. It worked well for locking up my carry gun when I needed to run into the post office or anywhere else I couldn’t legally carry.

But if I had my laptop, DSLR camera, or both with me and needed to stop at the grocery store, I’d always bring them inside rather than leave them in the car. There just wasn’t a great option for keeping those items secure. The Boosted Safe looks like it might finally solve that problem.

Firearm Theft From Vehicles

Leaving firearms in vehicles unsecured is one of the most common ways criminals get their hands on guns. Smash-and-grab break-ins happen fast, and a firearm left loose in a glove box or center console is an easy target.

If you’re going to leave a firearm in your vehicle, it needs to be secured — and this setup seems like a solid option for doing that. The Boosted Safe locks directly into the ISOFIX anchor points, making it far harder to remove or steal than traditional cable-locked safes.

That said, I still don’t recommend leaving a firearm in a vehicle for an extended period of time. Even the best safe can’t replace keeping the gun on your person or securely stored at home when not in use.

First Impressions and Setup

Installation was straightforward and only took a few minutes. The safe clicks into the ISOFIX anchor points solidly, and detaching it is just as easy when you need to remove it. I installed mine in a rear seat that’s rarely used, so I doubt I’ll have to move it often.

Setting up the fingerprint scanner was also quick. I decided which finger I’d most likely use to open it, then registered multiple fingerprints of that same finger at slightly different angles. So far, the scanner has been very responsive — opening the safe almost instantly every time.

The safe can also be opened with a numeric passcode or the included physical key, giving you multiple ways to access it depending on the situation.

Why It Caught My Attention

What really stood out to me is that this design keeps the safe securely anchored to the vehicle without relying on a steel cable that could be cut. It’s a step up from most under-seat safes and feels like a more permanent, purpose-built solution for vehicle security.

Boosted Safe Discount Code

I got a discount on mine, and Boosted Safe offered to set up a 15% off code for USA Carry readers: USACARRY15.

I don’t make anything from it — they just offered it after we talked.

Final Thoughts (For Now)

So far, I’m impressed. It’s sturdy, quick to access, and easy to remove if needed. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be putting it through more real-world use to see how it holds up to daily carry life, travel, and temperature changes here in the South.

If you’re looking for a better way to secure your firearm or valuables in your vehicle, this might be worth keeping an eye on.
